For women owned companies, it’s been either feast or famine due to the downward spiral of the economy. If you are one of the unlucky companies who’ve lost clients and are struggling with covering your overhead and paying yourself a salary, you can turn things around by cross marketing.

Cross-marketing at its essence is nothing more than joining forces with compatible companies so that everyone involved can more effectively capitalize on each others’ existing client base. It’s a no cost or low cost way to build awareness of your company.

Before you approach a company to discuss cross marketing, have a firm idea in mind on how you would like to proceed and compensation for referrals. I recommend using special business holidays to build joint promotional campaigns. It allows you to build a publicity campaign to capitalize on your cross marketing activities.

Are You Listening?

Are you receiving gentle nudges from within? Little ‘tuggings from the soul’ is what I like to call them. Some women are innately able to tune in, listen and take steps to bring it to life –it comes so easily and naturally for them. For others, like me, it’s been a journey, an unfolding of learning to shut off the ‘other little voice of fear and ego’ and tuning in completely to the sound of the soul. But what a journey of love and lightness when you follow the tugging!

Looking back now I see I have received my gentle nudges throughout my life, though many times I chose to do it MY way which in layman’s terms means the HARD way. I have spent the last fourteen years on a journey of self-discovery and self-love and as I learned to trust my inner nudges life unfolded to become much more than I could have envisioned on my own.

Setting Your Goals- The Power of Focus

According to the Encarta online dictionary, goal means aim, something that somebody wants to achieve.The question is, how do you know what to aim for — what to focus on - and how do you know when you have achieved it?

It is easy to have many ideas but goals are the process by which you are able to focus those ideas to make them achievable. Focus is an amazing gift in our toolbox for life. It is the ability to narrow things down to a single point and to concentrate all of our energy and resources in that direction. It is also the ability to see things clearly. When our focus is divided, our lives are in constant turmoil and our “vision” blurred. However, when focused, our dreams are achievable. Focus is a power enabler.Here are the main points why goal setting is a good idea in gaining and maintaining focus to enable you to fulfill your dreams:

1. Knowing where you are heading empowers you. If you can see the finish line, you know exactly how much effort is required for you to cross it and that is empowering. 

2. Recording your goals also empowers you. By writing them down and giving them a timeframe to make them measurable, you go through the mental process of figuring out exactly what you are going to need to achieve them. Assigning a date by which to achieve your goals helps to apply the pressure necessary to motivate you to action.

3. Visualizing your goal in your mind helps you to adopt the mental attitude necessary to achieve your goal. Imagine yourself doing whatever your goal is. The clearer you can see it in your mind, the more achievable it will become.
