Girlfriends are your link to divorce survival

I believe, without a doubt, that the road to happiness after divorce is paved with friendships…. and lots of them. When I split with my husband of 17 years four and a half years ago, I was blessed with good friends who were willing to listen….and listen…..and listen to me ramble on and on about my failed relationship and the struggles my four kids were having adjusting to their father not living with them anymore. I am sure they listened until they could not listen anymore (God bless them!). Eventually, they started to avoid my calls and stopped checking on me as often. In essence, I wore them out. They did not realize how badly I needed my girlfriends at this time in my life. But I knew my friends were crucial to my survival.

So I tried to find other sources of women who could relate to what I was going through. I remember wondering to myself, "If more than half of all marriages end in divorce, where are all the other divorced moms like me?" I was surrounded by married friends and "happy" families. A friend of mine had divorced a year earlier, so she and I clung to each other in the sea of married friends that was the town that we lived in. I got a female therapist. I met other single moms through online groups and mutual friends and rebuilt my friendship arsenal. I am still doing that today. A woman can't have too many pairs of shoes or too many girlfriends. Each one serves a special purpose.

It's very real…….

Researchers from UCLA have found that gathering around your girlfriends can actually chemically counteract the harmful effects of stress. When a woman is under pressure, calm-inducing chemicals released in her brain may actually cause her to seek and nurture relationships with other women. This "tend and befriend" reaction is the female equivalent of the "fight or flight" response and a survival mechanism you may recognize when you feel the need to escape your home and family for a little while. Don't fight it.

Maintain your female friendships by keeping a weekly date with your girlfriends. Thank them for being there! This weekend gather your favorite females for a few precious hours of girls-only fun. Thank your friends with a fun cocktail or dinner party. Take them out and treat them to a dance lesson. Cherish them. Because when it comes to life, love, and the daily ups and downs of the modern woman, no one gets you quite like your closest girlfriends.

                                             No more sharing pillows and
                                        blankets with strangers!

Coupon Code: JGT07 --www.planecomfort.net

My Customers who use the coupon code will get a free set of eye shades and earplugs. So you get on the plane, ask for a pillow and blanket and are told there are none. WHAT?! Whether you are on the plane for 2 hours or 22 hours, it's nice to know you have what you need to make yourself comfy and cozy in the "less than comfy" coach seats. Planecomfort to the rescue!

Packed with value and simplifying how comfort items can be taken when traveling, Planecomfort provides three travel necessities; a blanket, pillowcase and pillow, in a compact and hands-free bundle.

The product easily converts from a pillow to a super sleep set by inflating the travel pillow (inflate to your desired softness), using the pouch as the pillowcase, and snuggling in the 50 x 60 inch microfleece blanket.

Making traveling even easier is the adjustable and detachable strap which allows Planecomfort to be attached directly to a carry-on or slung over a shoulder. The outside zippered pocket is the perfect place to store a boarding pass, ID, snack or magazine. As an added benefit to the consumer, the nylon pouch becomes a handy tote bag when the blanket is removed.

The coordinating luggage finder included with the fashion print kits makes it easy to spot your checked bag as it travels around the baggage carousel. Well after the vacation or business trip is over, the product provides comfort at outdoor concerts, picnics, sporting events and long car rides.
