Here are some ideas for those summer challenges:

Barbecues
- Grill a variety of extra vegetables for yourself
- Corn is filling and a low calorie choice
- Wrap potatoes in foil and cook them on the grill
- Offer to bring a fruit salad or a vegetable tray

A Day at the Beach
-Pack a picnic instead of eating at the snack bar
-Stock your cooler with water, fruits and vegetables
-Bring Lean proteins, like yogurt, low-fat string cheese, and bean salad along

Vacation Week
-Plan some form of physical activity most days
-Order grilled fish with steamed vegetables and a baked potato at most dinners
-Always eat a breakfast with a lean protein, whole grain and fruit No Matter What!!

 

Products

Nutrition Counseling:
Consult with a registered dietitian about your nutritional goals to achieve optimal health, including weight management, diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure control, healthy eating, pediatric and sports nutrition. You will receive an initial consultation, individual meal plan, goals, and time to discuss any questions.  Follow-up sessions are encouraged to increase long-term success with goals. The cost for Nutrition Counseling is $100 for initial consultation ($50 for 30 min follow-up or $75 for 1 hr follow-up)

BodyGem Test:
The BodyGem® is a state-of-the-art, handheld device that accurately measures resting metabolic rate (RMR). It can measure oxygen consumption and determine an individual's calorie needs. A general estimate for a daily calorie budget for a woman is 11 calories per pound and 12 calories per pound for men. This is only true for 20% of the population. The cost of a BodyGem Test is $65.

BodyGem Breakfast Party:
If you know others interested in finding out their individual calorie budgets, this is the perfect morning for you to book. For a group meeting, we provide a nutritionally complete breakfast to enjoy after the test. The cost is $50 per person for 3 or more. Also, if the group or someone wanted to receive an individual meal plan with an educational folder, the cost would be an additional $45.

Purification Program:
Take 21 days and experience the internal cleansing and detoxification of your body. Most people choose to complete it in the fall or spring. It is not a diet, but a program that helps you live a healthier life by purifying, nourishing, and maintaining a healthy body. It uses Standard Process whole food supplements to help your body purify and rebuild itself. Throughout the program, you may find yourself eating foods that may be new to you. It is basic nutrition, about rebuilding your eating patterns with vegetables, fruits, whole grains and lean protein. This program has been shown to help with headaches, fatigue or difficulty sleeping, digestive and other gastrointestinal problems, immune challenges, food cravings, weight gain, reduced mental clarity and low libido. Cost: $250

Weight-loss Groups:
Get together with a group to start a weight-loss journey to a healthier lifestyle. Customize your group with specific topics, support and accountability options, and much more! The cost for Weight-Loss Groups is
$45 per person per 1 hr session.

Private Cooking:
Learn how to provide optimal nutrition for you and your family. Have a registered dietitian come into your home to prepare a nutritionally complete meal. As well as, provide nutrition education about meals, food groups, easy preparation tips, and flavorful recipes. The cost for Private Cooking is $150.

Grocery Tours:
Build the perfect shopping list for your health. Meet with a registered dietitian and learn the ingredients to your nutritional goals. It all begins at the grocery store. Sessions will include formulating an individual shopping list to meet your needs and a trip to the grocery store. The cost for Grocery Tours are $75.

Small Party Catering:
DLN offers catering options for a wide range of events, including small meetings, gatherings and special occasions. Call and speak with our nutritional experts who will develop healthy alternatives of your favorite dishes.

 

Bio

Nicole is a registered dietitian and certified in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association. She has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and completed a dietetic internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She provides nutritional counseling for individuals and groups to help people balance their diet and lifestyle to achieve lasting results.
